First Quilt Class - Star Adventure Quilt - Saturdays, February 8 & 15
First Quilt Class - Star Adventure Quilt - Saturdays, February 8 & 15
Learn to make your first quilt top in this fun class. Join Kathleen as she helps you choose fabrics, cut, piece, and press your quilts for great results the first time. The Star Adventure pattern is a multi-sized pattern, so you can make the size of quilt top that works best for your life.
In the first class you will choose your fabrics from the selection in our shop-- we will discuss how to select fabrics for a cohesive quilt, then cut them out with our rotary cutting equipment.
In the second class we will learn to piece the two most common shapes used in quilting -- the square and the half-square triangle. You will piece and sew your blocks together to create your quilt top. Please note, you will not finish your quilt top in class, but will have all the skills required to complete it! Feel free to join us for Sewing After Dark or UFO days to complete your top if you'd like additional help!
Some discussion will be given on how to quilt your quilt, as well as how to put binding on, however, these steps will not be completed in class.
All tools needed are included in the price (sewing machines, rotary cutting equipment, pins, scissors, etc) but you will need to purchase fabric and threads the first day of class. If you have your own sewing machine we recommend you bring it.
Time:
Saturday, February 8 : 10:00 - 12:00 (approximate ending). Classroom will be open in the afternoon for you to finish cutting your quilt if you did not finish in the morning!
