About
Quilting from the Heart is a family owned business in Camrose, Alberta Canada. We opened in February 2000, and have been sharing our love of quilting ever since. In 2012, The Sewing Centre joined us, and we started selling Pfaff Sewing machines as well as an expanded selection of fabric and notions.
We are located at 4811 50 Street, Camrose, Alberta
Today, Quilting From The Heart & The Sewing Center reside in one building on main street in Camrose.
Quilting From The Heart is owned by Ardelle and Roger Kerr.
Roger is a former teacher & dairy farmer, turned quilter. He makes most of the quilt samples you see in our store, and loves a complex paper pieced quilt. He is a former math teacher and our go-to for quilt math questions. He also runs our longarm quilting service.
Ardelle is now retired, but you can often find her sewing in our classroom during a UFO day. She spends her time quilting, stitching, weaving, and playing with her grandchildren.
Kathleen is Ardelle and Roger's daughter, and our store manager. She's probably the one you've talked to if you've emailed or sent us a facebook message. She keeps our store running smoothly and our website up to date, as well as writes and designs our in-house publications, such as our wool felt embroidery books, newsletters, email's, and more. She teaches most of our in-house classes, as well as travelling all over the world to teach quilting.
Rocky is Kathleen's husband and our machine technician. He spends most of his time at the store fixing sewing machines and helping customers learn how to use their machines. Of all our staff he spends the least time sewing, but he does enjoy machine embroidery when the mood strikes.
Eddie and George are Kathleen & Rocky's sons, who can usually be found playing in our classroom or trying to show you their favourite fabrics. Eddie recently made his first quilt, and Geroge loves sorting fabrics. Don't make eye contact if you don't have a few hours to play.
Val hangs out with this crazy family and makes sure that you can find everything you need when you come in. She has endless patience for the shenanigans we get into.
We hope to see you in the store soon!
